Chenango room saved!

I hope #resistance has some bigger victories than this in 2018.

Chenango Room to stay
After concerns were raised by the Faculty Senate and the Professional Staff Senate, the University will not close the Chenango Room and replace it with a Panera Bread location as previously announced. Since evaluation of campus dining options identified interest in adding Panera, the University, in collaboration with Binghamton University Dining Services by Sodexo, will discuss other possible locations with Panera Bread with the hope that we can soon bring the Panera brand on campus in a location that will be well-received by all. The Chenango Room and Einstein Bros. Bagels will continue operations in their current locations.

Jenn at IASH, take 2

a make-up from the snow day:

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018, 12:00 pm, IASH Conference Room (LN 1106)
IASH Fellows' Speaker Jenn Dum (Philosophy) presents: “Educational Justice and Relational Goods.
“This presentation will argue that relational educational goods are a function of the social aims of education, the internal educational process itself, and the structural position of education. Furthermore, such relational educational goods—for example, the ability to empathize—are goods realized within relations, and thus are not something that can or should be distributed on comparative terms. Educational justice, accordingly, needs to account not only for the comparative goods of distributive justice, but also for relational goods.”
