11:30 am-12:30 pm	New students meet with Professor Karnein who will provide an overview of the program and answer any questions.	UUW-324
12:30 pm-2:00 pm	All SPEL students (new and returning) and faculty will meet together. Lunch will be provided.	UUW-324
3:30 pm-6:00 pm	Individual meetings with Professor Karnein (in her office)	LT-1204

News & Notes - June 16, 2017

Fall 2017 Graduate Student Orientation Updates The orientation schedule is now available. New graduate students and new teaching assistants will be formally invited to these events in July. New Graduate Student Orientation: Tuesday, August 22. Details online.  New Teaching Assistant Orientation: Tuesday, August 22. Details online. New International Graduate Student Orientation: The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) has finalized the dates for the Fall 2017 International Graduate Student Orientation. All events will be held on Wednesday, August 16. Students will check-in at the University Union and then move to various locations on campus for mandatory federal regulation immigration presentations. The Welcome Dinner will be held on Thursday, August 17 in the University Union. We encourage all new international students to participate. 2017 graduate conference

The Binghamton University philosophy department will be holding its 2017 graduate conference, "Law-Breaking and Theories of Resistance," on November 4, 2017. Please see the PhilEvents call for papers here.
